Comments

We disabled by default the possibility to leave comments on blog posts.

But in case comments are allowed, when visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Our website does not allow people to upload medias.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Our contact form sends an email to our mailbox only. We will not share/sell your email or messages to any third party. We use the plugin Contact Form 7 to allow you to contact us. Here is the link to their Privacy Policy.

In addition, we use the plugin Advanced Contact form 7 DB to keep track of people who signed our forms.

Our contact form uses the invisible reCAPTCHA V3 system from Google to prevent us to receive spams.

Downloadable Media

We use the free version of the plugin Download Manager to allow you to download our documents. When you download a document from our website, we do not store your IP. Here is the link to their Cookie Policy.

Newsletter

We use MailChimp for our Newsletter system. Subscribing to our newsletter allows you to receive periodic news and info about Drinkable Rivers. Cookies

We do our best to use a Cookie Management solutions that allows you to fully customize how you want your cookies to be processed.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. For our community platform, we use Disciple Media. People’ profilesand posted content on this platform will be used only by Drinkable Rivers and for the purpose intended by the platform. Nucleoo

To collect the data from our Citizen Science Program, we use an application developed by data specialist Nucleoo. People who create a profile on our application can be ensured the data is used only by Drinkable Rivers and for the purpose intended by the data platform.
